Sector overview


The Agricultural production Improvement Sub-Sector is one of the three sectors that is categorized under community direct reach Sector. It is also a key Sector that lays the production agenda to the farmer using the Sustainable Agriculture Principles and Practices.
Building from the Organization’s Vision and Mission, the Sector works with smallholder farmers to building their capacity to be food, nutrition and income secure, and ensure that they are in charge of their destiny.


The Sector’s vision is to be a leading Source of practical/technical information on Sustainable Agriculture Principle and Practices for smallholder farmers and other SA practitioners in the Eastern Africa region.


Mandate of the sector


The mandate of this sector is wealth creation through capacity building the resource limited small holder farmers and marginalized communities. The focus is on the following thematic areas, Enhancement of Agro Production, Value Addition and Marketing, Renewable Energy, Rural Savings and Credit and Access to Water.


This sector is currently implementing the following projects:-

  1. Water Livestock, Gardens (WLG 5)
  2. Serenkei Kindergarten project
  3. Marantawua Primary School and water project
